Bring your heart of gold! Obi Best, Xu Xu Fang and Great Northern will be playing the Pablove Foundation’s Benefit Show at The Bootleg Theatre on August 13. Hosted by FMLY with dj sets by Division Day.

100% of profits will go to the Pablove Foundation, started by Dangerbird Records co-founder Jeff Castelaz and his wife Jo Ann Thrailkill whose five-year-old son Pablo passed away froma rare form of children’s cancer this past June. Finalists officially announced!
In case you were wondering, Social Science & Obi Best sponsored a video contest for the song “Swedish Boy” which Obi’s own Alex Lilly explains in the video below.

Well the contest closed on February 15th, 2009 and the results are in!
There was a lot of amazing, inventive (and hilarious!) filmmaking in the 20 entries we received, so if you haven’t already, please check out the other videos.

But after some spirited discussion among the Social Science & Obi Best crews we whittled it down to five finalists. Here are our favorites, highlighted in pink. $500 prize winner to be announced next week. Congratulations and thank you to finalists and EVERYONE for their creativity and hard work!
